Masculine Birthday

I can always seem to make cards frilly & girly but I get stumped when it comes time to make a masculine card.  I was inspired by the party hat in the Idea Book and Catalog (which has tons of great ideas) on page 147.  That got me jump started to come up with this creation.  Enjoy!

I used the Color Coach to come up with this combination of Basic Gray, Cajun Craze and Baja Breeze.  I also added Crumb Cake too!  The sentiment is from the Word Play stamp set.  I also added a clip from the Clips Assortment on page 187 of the IB&C.

The Crumb Cake was embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I used the Stars #2 original die to cut out the stars from Cajun Craze.  I glued them to the Crumb Cake before I embossed it and the stars are now inlaid into the Crumb Cake like one sheet of paper.  It looks awesome in person.  I also added a little scallop edge border in Baja Breeze and a star to the inside of the card.  I used Whisper White for the inside and to stamp the sentiment on the front of the card.  I love how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!
