Pink Camo!

Stampin' Pretty's Guest Stamper

I am so thrilled to be today's Guest Stamper on Mary Fish's blog Stampin Pretty.  She is such a talented paper crafter and has an amazing website.

My card that is featured on her blog today was one I made for a friend of mine.  He and his wife welcomed their first baby, a girl, this past January.  I am so excited for them and wish them all the best!  Since my friend is an avid hunter (like my husband) I wanted to make something that was reminiscent of Pink Camouflage.  I still wanted it to be delicate and feminine at the same time.  This is what I came up with, Enjoy!

The colors I used were Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla.  I used layers of  Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla on the card front.  I stamped the Very Vanilla cardstock with the Teahouse background stamp in Crumb Cake.  I sponged everything in Crumb Cake before I adhered them.  I then took a chipboard "B" and ran it through the Xyron to make it into a sticker. I punched the flower shapes from the Itty Bitty Punch Shapes Punch Pack in all of the colors and glued them randomly all over the "B" to cover it up.
I punched out a circle from Crumb Cake cardstock and sponged it, folded it in half and adhered it to the layers prior to mounting the whole thing onto the card base.  I added a button, linen thread and vintage safety pin with two tags punched from Very Vanilla cardstock stamped with the "baby" stamp from Tiny Tags and the "Love" heart from I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.  I layered a folded piece of Pretty In Pink striped ribbon behind the Pretty In Pink cardstock layer.  I popped the "B" up on dimensionals to give it some added dimension.

There is a lot of detail in this tiny card but I thought the results were fantastic!

I would like to thank Mary Fish for featuring me as her Guest Stamper today and thank all of you who came over from her blog to visit me.

Stop back again soon for another project!

I just found your blog through Mary Fish's blog. I really like your style - it matches my own. You can be sure I will be a frequent visitor in the future. I haven't had the guts yet to start my own blog - seems like so much work, but hope to do just that one of these days. Thanks for sharing your work!

Great idea to make a pink camo card. The card colors would definitely be a hit here in central and northern Wisconsin where hunting is a way of life! I, too, am a Pal and enjoyed scrolling down your blog and viewing your Valentine cards and projects. Love your style!!
