Rustic Thank You

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a fantastic week.  If you didn't already know, I love primitive and rustic decor, especially twig wreaths.  I have them all over my house!  I love the simplicity and texture of these wreaths.  So when I saw this stamp set, I just had to have it.

This card is very simple but I love the rustic feel to it.  I used Glossy Accents on some of the berries to give it some shine and dimension.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Whale for a Baby Boy!

Hi everyone!  TGIF!!  Hope you all had a great week!  Just wanted to share a baby card I had made recently.  Hope you like it!

It was pretty fun to make this card.  I cut the Bashful Blue cardstock by hand to create the waves and then sponged the edges with Whisper White ink.  The dots were stamped using the distressing stamp from Glitz in Indian Corn Blue ink from CTMH.  The clouds were also stamped in Indian Corn Blue onto Whisper White and cut out by hand.  Next, I adhered the waves with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some extra dimension.  The stamp I used for the cloud was from a set called Owl Garden from Craft Affair by Hampton Arts.  The whale was a stamp I got from the $.99  bin at a local scrapbook store.  I believe it was from Imaginisce.  The words "It's A Boy" are from a Melissa Frances stamp set.  I highlighted the clouds and some dots with some Crystal Stickles for some added interest.  The heart was punched out of the Two Step Owl Punch and of course I added Glossy Accents to give it a wet look!  For the final touch I faux stitched around the card with a white Gelly Roll pen to tie everything all together.  It was sort of like my lipstick for the whole card!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Camo Birthday Wrapping

Hi Everyone!  Just wanted to drop in and show you what I made for Mike's birthday.  I wrapped his present in Kraft colored paper and added a handmade bow with some greens & browns to give it a "Camo" feel.  Since my husband is an avid hunter and the season is just around the corner I thought I would just go with it!  I like the simple, understated way that the bow gives a hint of camo without being IN YOUR FACE!!  I also made a quick bunting for the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie I made him to celebrate his birthday.  It was delicious.  You can find the recipe here.  I added the little stars at the last minute to jazz it up a bit but it gave it more of a military feel.  Anyhoo, the thought was there.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Hello Everyone!  It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since the 9/11 attacks.  I can remember so vividly that day as if it were yesterday.  Although I was not there that day, it has affected me as well as others that I know.  Even though I was already aware of how fragile life is and how it can change in an instant the events of 9/11 reminded me to appreciate every single moment with my  loved ones and live every day to the fullest.  Sometimes with all of the stresses of daily life I forget to do just that.  My heart goes out to all of the survivors, family and friends of those who perished in the 9/11 attacks.

In other news, I made a boo boo today!  I didn't realize that today was Grandparent's Day until just about an hour ago.  So, I whipped up this card and must say, I like how it turned out.  I didn't have any Grandparent stamps so I made my own letters using a manila tag and some Papertrey Ink alphabet stamps.  Just goes to show you that sometimes something cute can be done FAST!!  Hope you like it!

I have been doing faux stitching a lot lately, I even made a little accent on the envelope for some pizazz!

Thank you for stopping by, please stop by tomorrow for a fun card I made for a challenge.

Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge

Hello everyone!  Just wanted to share with you a quick challenge I did for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge.  The challenge was to make backgrounds with non-background stamps.  This is what I came up with.  Hope you like it!

It was a lot of fun to think of ways to use stamps that are not typically background stamps and use them to make the base for my card.  I used the cone stamp from the Sweet As Can Be set and made sort of a chevron pattern out of it.  I then made another piece of patterned paper using the star from the Postmarks set.  I love how this turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Papertrey Ink: Sweet As Can Be, Postmarks
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Inks:  Chocolate Chip, CTMH: Barn Red, Outdoor Denim
Tools:  Big Shot, PTI By The Numbers Die, Crimper, Spiral Edge Punch
Accessories:  Ivory Paint, Wooden Star, Clear Embossing Powder, Button Twine, Versamark
