Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #67 Step It Up: Mixing Patterned Papers

Papertrey Ink's Nichole Heady has a wonderful video posted on her blog.  It is the famous Make It Monday series.  This week's video is from Betsy Veldman.  The video shows you how to mix patterned papers, one of my things I need to work on!  I was never really comfortable with this concept since I wasn't sure what to do.  Betsy breaks it down really easy and takes the guess work right out of it.  Here is my take on it!

The patterned paper I used was from the Generations line from Simple Stories.  I also used Fine Linen, and Kraft cardstock from PTI.  The stamps used were Congrats All The Way and Love Lives Here.  I also used the Love Lives Here house image die and die cut a couple houses out of some thick backing from a paper pad and adhered them together with a patterned paper on top.  I wrapped some linen thread around several times and tied it in a knot.  This created a cute little embellishment.  The buttons are also PTI.  I used the left over heart from the house and used some glossy accents on it to give it a little interest.
