Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #198: Three Panel Cards

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. It seemed as though things were going so fast with the end of summer and the start up of school. Things have been hectic around here with all of our schedules.

Sadly though, on December 5th, my mother passed away very suddenly. This has by far been the most gut-wrenching experience of my life. My mother, twin sister Beth and I have been very close growing up since my father passed away when we were 10 years old. It has always been just the three of us until one day when I was 15 years old, I met my future husband, Mike. From then on he was part of our family.

When we finally had our daughter, Emma, it was my mother's greatest pleasure. She was a beaming grandmother and we spent even more time together. Mom and Emma had the most wonderful relationship! They had such a special bond and it just melted my heart. They had sleepovers, loved to go out to eat together (especially all you can eat shrimp at Red Lobster), they made homemade  popcorn and watched The Hallmark Channel together, and so much more! They either saw each other or spoke on the phone daily. I always hoped that my daughter would never get to know the pain of losing someone she loved at such a young age, but unfortunately that was not the case. We are all absolutely heartbroken. Our lives have completely changed forever and right now we are trying to pick up the pieces and try to make a "new normal" for our family.

My mom loved it when I made her homemade cards and little goodies! She saved every one of my little creations. She was one of my biggest supporters when I decided to start paper crafting. I will truly miss her enthusiasm and joy when she opened one of my cards. It made me feel so good to put a smile on her face.

This is one of the first things I have even felt like creating since mom passed. It was my cousin Joy's birthday this past weekend and I wanted to make her a little something special. Being my mom's only niece, they were very close. She was a great comfort to us from the moment she got the call that things did not look good for my mom.

Oh Amy!!!! Tears welled up in my eyes as I read your devastating news! I am so terribly sorry for the very great loss of your beloved Mother! I know how very hard it is my dear!!!! My heart and prayers are with you and your entire family!!!!! I send my love and great big hugs!!!!!!!

Amy...I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet mother. Reading you post brought tears to my eyes. I could hear the love in every word you wrote. You and your family will be in my prayers. Your card is utterly beautiful and I am sure your cousin will be so pleased that you took the time to make it for her.
